In July 2014 PAI Partners acquired The VPS Group at a valuation of £161m, as part of their Business Services portfolio.
The VPS Group has achieved a 17.1% YOY increase in revenue whilst completing a number of important business changes. Operating cash inflow generated by the Group in the year was £9.7 million. The improvement over the prior year was driven by an increase in trading performance, tighter controls on capital expenditure and an increased focus on working capital management.
The Group has also successfully restructured and refinanced its borrowings during the year, which has resulted in a reduction in bank borrowings and additional funding provided by its shareholder. This has improved the liquidity of the Group and provided additional funding headroom for the business.
In addition, the Group has successfully carried out a number of initiatives including a review of its senior management and organisation structure, moving from a geographical model to a vertical divisional model in recognition of the different markets, customer bases and operating models each division represents.
The VPS Group is a performance-focused, fast growing company. We are always interested in hearing about acquisition opportunities for businesses operating across Europe in the following sectors:
In May 2019, The VPS Group completed the sale of Lotus Landscapes Limited (“Lotus”) ; a subsidiary business that engaged principally in grounds maintenance and cleaning services. We believe that the sale of Lotus to Q3 Service Group – a specialist grounds services business – will result in Lotus experiencing better growth and overall performance under new ownership.
All Merger and Acquisition related enquires should be directed to Andy McEwan.
